Concord LIfting EquipmentConcord Lifting Equipment Ltd. Managing Director Peter Carr to retire after 30 years of service

Peter Carr, Managing Director of Concord Lifting Equipment Ltd. since 1997 is retiring at the end of May 2013.  Peter has been involved in Concord in its various forms for over 30 years, and was made Managing Director when the business was purchased by KFC Holdings in 1997.  During this time he has lead Concord’s expansion and continued success

Under Peter’s leadership Concord acquired Lifting Equipment & Services Ltd (now fully amalgamated into the Concord Group as Concord Lifting Equipment, St Neots) and opened a new branch at Charlton.  He is leaving the company in a fantastic position for the future having orchestrated the redevelopment of the head office in Wandsworth (which is in progress) and leading Concord into the 21st century by implementing an integrated website and ERP/billing system which is being rolled out in the coming months.

Although Peter has been the face of Concord for so long, there will still be a strong Carr family influence at the company-his sister Sally works in credit control, his son James Carr is the depot Manager for the head office at Wandsworth and his daughter in law looks after the marketing for Concord Lifting.

Below is a statement from the chairman of Concord Lifting Equipment Ltd.

May 20th 2013

‘It is with considerable emotion that I am writing to let you know that Peter Carr will be retiring as Managing Director of Concord Lifting Equipment Ltd. on May 31st 2013.

Peter has been working with Concord in its various forms for over 30 years and I would like to thank him for helping to make the company what it is today, which couldn’t have been done without his energy and absolute commitment.  When KFC was given the opportunity to buy Concord Lifting Equipment back in 1997 it was Peter’s personality, energy and work ethic that convinced us to go ahead and we have never regretted that decision.  I trust everyone at Concord will continue in that spirit as the business moves on.  Peter informed me of his decision to stand down in April, and over the last few weeks has worked with myself and the other directors to put together a structure for the company for the long term future so we can continue the success that Peter has brought us.

Lynda Carr, who has ably assisted Peter and worked with Emma on marketing and customer relations is also retiring and I would like to thank her as well for all the hard work she has put into Concord Lifting over the past 17 years.  She will have her work cut out keeping tabs on Peter from now on!

Because of the fantastic work Peter has done in making all the four depots run so successfully there are no immediate plans to introduce a new Managing Director, as it is Peter’s and my view that the current Management staff at Concord are more than capable to take Concord forward without a replacement’
